Anal Bleaching, All the Cool Kids are Doing It!

This post is generously sponsored by: MET-Art - Where flawless beauty meets art!
Find out how you can sponsor a post.

And by Cool Kids I mean porn stars, strippers, celebrities, and your kinky next door neighbor. Until a few days ago I'd never heard of anal bleaching. Apparently I've been completely missing this, um, "interesting" personal care trend. It's even been mentioned in big time women's magazines like Marie Claire. Since anal shaving and waxing are regular beauty Musts in today's glamorous world, I guess this is the logical next step.

But what exactly is anal bleaching?

For those of you who've been living under a rock like I have, the Urban Dictionary explains anal bleaching as a Cosmetic Technique:

"Whereby strong bleaching solutions like hydroquinones are used to lighten the anal area. This procedure is employed by strippers, body builders, actors and actresses. Seems over time, the butticular area becomes darker (some say it's due to dark foods like coffee, others speculate it's due to staining from the bilirubin content in feces.) Either way, those who aspire to wear butt floss as swimwear or do pole dancing seem to feel a lighter sphincter will improve their image.

Huh, so it's precisely as it sounds. We should all aspire for anuses that are perfectly blended into the surrounding color of our buttocks skin, or slightly pinker for added emphasis. I don't know about you, but I'm very happy to have something as important as this to worry about! Phew! My life was getting a little too stress-free for my liking.

What Causes the "Offensive" Anal Discoloration in the First Place?

This is point of contention between those who want to position anal bleaching as a health and hygiene issue verses those who want to promote it as a cosmetic beauty treatment. On the Health side, reasons include anal staining due to excessive coffee and soda drinking, as well as poor wiping techniques that smears your you-know-what around instead of actually wiping it away. After years of poor eating habits and bad wiping, the skin around the anus becomes darker. A quick solution is to bleach away the damage, just like we bleach away stains on our teeth (even though it's not actually bleach but a heavy peroxide-based cleaning gel). Once that is accomplished, special "wipes" can be used to keep your anus its new perfect color. Oddly these "special wipes" look just like ordinary "baby wipes" repackaged and sold for a lot more, but who am I to judge?

On the Beauty Treatment side, the main reason given for anal discoloration is genetic. Some people simply have more pigment in that area than others. Personally, I'm on this side of the debate - if we can call it a debate. Just like some people have dark nipples and labia while others have light, some people have dark anuses and some people don't. It seems those who "don't" are winning the underground anal beauty war at the moment...

Where is Everyone Getting These Anal Bleaches?

Upscale salons and spas are starting to offer this treatment more and more. Sure, you have to know where to look and be willing to pay half your yearly income to acquire a wonderful porn-style anus, but it's worth it!

And if you're too embarrassed to go to a salon or spa for this very personal treatment, you can do it by yourself in the comfort of your own home. You have to love the entrepreneurial spirit surrounding this whole thing. Do a quick Google search and you'll find lots of e-shops willing to provide you with all your anal bleaching needs. There's ShopInPrivate.com and even eBay to help you out! (And yes, they sell the Very-Special-Wipes too!)

My Not-So-Humble thought on Anal Bleaching...

Call me crazy, but bending over in front of a mirror and looking between my ass cheeks is not something I do on a regular basis.
Sure I give it a check every once in a while, and I'll even go so far as making sure it's silky smooth for those special occasions or when I want to have an extra good time that night...But bleaching?! Thanks but no thanks, I'll keep my anus what ever color my genetics decided it should be.

And for the record, if my sex partner actually cared enough about the color of my ass to have it negatively affect our sex life, I'd seriously consider finding a more open-minded and loving person to play with. "Photoshop" does not make for good sex anyway.

Yep, That Would be a Vagina...

Vulvology - Which I assume refers to the study of vulvas - is a website dedicated to showing pictures of vaginas. Actually I think the plural of vagina is vaginae, but have you ever heard anyone use that word before? Other than in the medical profession, maybe? No? Neither have I, so I'm going to keep using "vaginas."

Anyways, the site is supposed to be "an homage to the eternal and ubiquitous woman, through the glorification of her geographic and conceptual center, enveloped in mystery in all cultures and ages," and the creator is apparently very upset that it is often classified as porn since she is so staunchly against all forms of pornography. On this I agree. Picture after picture of vaginas doing nothing but sitting there is not porn. If viewers get turned on by them, so be it, but just because something causes sexual excitement does not mean it's necessarily porn. After all, many people think high heeled boots are a turn-on, but shoe shops aren't porn shops after all!

However, I find her absolute dislike of all pornography off-putting. "Did I tell you how I dislike pornography?" She says and, "You know what I hate the most? It's when they make the girls open their lips (labia) with their hands." Hmmm, I personally get really excited when my lover tells me to do exactly this. It makes me feel sexy, tempting, and desired. I love that he wants to look at me that closely, and adore being given orders in bed. But, to each her own.

So although I was annoyed reading her vagina-attached thoughts, and was mostly confused by the strange labels she used to categorize the pictures (Bivalve, Leaves, Walnuts?), its pseudo-feminist oddities intrigued me. Plus, if I ever wondered what other women's vaginas looked like without the porn-star makeovers, consider my curiosity sated.

5 Reasons Why Masturbation is Good for Mothers

I have to start by thanking Kristofer for pointing out that May has been declared National Masturbation Month since 1995 by the wonderful people over at Good Vibrations. How this has slipped by me is anyone's guess, so I'm giving you, my dear reader, my not-so-sincerest apologies for having missed this monumental event in the past.

That being said, this weekend is also Mother's Day, and I think it would be fun to celebrate both events at once. Here goes.

Apparently Masturbation Month was declared as a way of raising awareness about masturbation and taking away the taboos that surrounded this incredibly common, though rarely discussed, practice. Twelve years later, I think masturbation has finally secured its place as an accepted and rather mundane part of almost everyone's life - except perhaps the very conservatively religious among us. Even Christians are finding ways to reconcile their beliefs with masturbation. Because of this, Masturbation Month seems to have transformed into a purely uninhibited celebration of auto-erotic activity. Now, now, calm yourself! I can see the crazy gleam of excitement dancing in your, er, eyes.

And because you guys are a particularly clever lot of blog readers, I'm sure you've already heard about the health benefits of masturbation so I won't bore you with that stuff here. I do, however, want to point out why masturbation is particularly good for wives and mothers, though I realize many mothers are not wives! So without further ado...

Reasons Why Mothers Should Masturbate:

  1. Stress Reduction! Yes, masturbation really does relax you, and mothers are some of the most stressed-out people I know! A more relaxed Mom will make the whole family happier. How does that old saying go? "When Mom's not happy, nobody's happy!"
  2. More Fun For Dad! It seems the more women masturbate, the more open they are to their partner's sexual advances. At first this seems odd. If she's taking care of her "needs" by herself, wouldn't she want less sex? Turns out the answer is no. Now whether that's because masturbating makes women hornier, or horny women masturbate more is for you to decide. Also, women like to have multiple orgasms...Maybe the first one she gives herself is like an appetizer, gearing her up for more action with her man.
  3. It Promotes Sleep! Mothers are notorious for being in bad moods due to lack of sleep, especially new Moms who wake up frequently to nurse or give bottles during the night. Masturbating at bed time is a perfect way to help your body wind-down from a busy day.
  4. Strengthens the Pelvic Floor! Do your Kegels, do your kegels! It's like a mother's mantra during and after pregnancy. Luckily, orgasms are another great way to tone up those inner muscles. This may be one of the only honestly fun kinds of exercise that exists.
  5. Did I Already Say Stress Reduction?
Happy Masturbation-Mother's Day Month!!

The Myth of Two Orgasms

"Do Women Really Have Two Different Kinds of Orgasms?"

I recently came across this question posted in a sex forum that I frequent and thought it was a topic that could certainly use some clarification!

There is only one kind of orgasm. The only difference is how an orgasm is triggered. For most women (roughly 70%) orgasm can only be achieved via clitoral stimulation. A much smaller group can have an orgasm via penetration (often referred to as a vaginal orgasm), and a very small group can reach orgasm either way. Then again, some women have orgasms with nipple stimulation alone, or can be "trained" to have an orgasm on command...but this is getting very involved and complicated!

No matter how orgasm is achieved, however, the reaction in the body is the same; increased circulation, respiration, flushing, increased muscular tension, and finally a series of intense vaginal and uterine contractions. The subjective experience of orgasm does differ depending on how it is triggered, varying in intensity, duration, and so forth. These differences in "feeling" have helped to perpetuate the myth of "different kinds" of orgasms.

Historically women were told that the only "real" orgasm was a vaginal one achieved by penetration alone, and that an orgasm brought about by clitoral stimulation was somehow "immature." Yes, we have Freud to thank for this huge misconception. His idea left the vast majority of women thinking there was something wrong with them because they couldn't orgasm just by having penetrative sex with their partners!

Thank goodness the feminists came along, with the help of Masters and Johnson, and set the record straight!

When Was The Last Time You Got A Hickey?

I was watching a BBC show the other night and somehow the topic of hickeys came up. One man, probably in his forties, said "Yeah, I remember what a big deal hickeys were as a teenager...But adults don't give hickeys do they? I suppose it would be weird as an adult."

When I heard this I was a bit taken aback, mainly because I'd never thought of it before. (A sex topic I hadn't thought about?! Really?!) So of course, I began to wonder...How do adults feel about giving and receiving hickeys? First of all, let's be clear about what a hickey, otherwise known as a "love bite," is. According to the all-knowing and all-powerful Wikipedia, a hickey is a "temporary mark or bruise on one's skin resulting from kissing or sucking or biting forcefully enough to burst blood vessels beneath the skin." Mmmmm, sounds sexy doesn't it? A bruise!

This is perhaps the only kind of bruise that lovers routinely inflict upon each other without sending up the little red warning flags of abuse. (Yes I realize bruising can also be a side effect of many rougher types of mutually pleasurable sex play such as spanking...but let's stick to hickeys for now, shall we?)

So the ideas behind this man's statement were:

1) Teenage lovers give and get hickeys all the time
2) Adults do not give or get hickeys
3) Adults that do give or get hickeys are "weird"

Breaking this down, we can ask the question "why" to each of his assumptions.

Number One, why do teenagers give and get so many hickeys? My guess is that hickeys are a result of great sexual passion having no where else to go. Because teenagers are generally discouraged from actually going through with sex, all that kissing and petting builds an enormous amount of sexual passion. Since that passion can't be channeled into the normally energetic and vigorous thrusting sexual gyrations, it's released via the strong and intimate act of sucking and biting on each other's skin in an overly zealous manner...Hence the bruising. Does that make sense to you? It does in my head.

Number Two, why don't we see more adults walking around with red, black, and blue marks on various parts of their anatomies? Again, the answer could be exactly the same as discussed above. Because adults usually do go "all the way," as sexual tension grows to the point of wanting to tear each other to pieces, penetration of some kind usually ensues...channeling those crazy desires into the intensity of the sex act itself. So, instead of biting and sucking each other to death, we f*ck each other instead...And f*cking doesn't leave behind any tell-tale hickeys for the world to see. (Adults are deceptive little creatures, aren't they?)

And finally, Number Three, why are hickey toting adults weird? The answer to this goes a little beyond the previous two. The logic might go, as an adult you can have sex, so why the need for hickeys? Or maybe, as an adult you should "know" better than to leave an inappropriate mark! After all, what will your boss think come Monday morning? A big sign on your neck that says "I had a lot of sex this weekend and I may be a crazy-sex-freak" is certainly not good PR for your firm. And lastly, adults who have hickeys might seem irresponsible and immature simply because a hickey will associate with adolescence in the minds of many adult onlookers. So, I can see where Mr. BBC Man was coming from.

On the other hand...

I don't think an adult who gives or gets hickeys should be considered "weird" at all! I think a hickey symbolizes passion-play between lovers, and can actually be a sign of a great adult sexual relationship. After all, for many adults the intense build-up to sex fades with time until sex becomes a routine set of behaviors that may not even be remotely "passionate."

If you still want to have sex with your long-time partner so much that you feel the need to consume them all at once, and that need manifests itself into a highly pleasurable round of erogenous-zone neck/shoulder sucking resulting in a few unfortunately placed hickeys, then good for you!

Plus, placing your sexual "mark" on a partner can be extremely satisfying. It must be a throwback to our most primitive cave-man style decelerations of ownership-love. A hickey screams to the world "Yes I am having sex with this person and No you can not touch them or I will beat you to death." In a way, this symbol goes straight past our logical cultured thoughts to our emotions. If you want to tell a sexual rival to "back-off" I think a hickey will work much better than wedding ring in most circumstances!

In conclusion: Adults, Enjoy your Hickeys!

Tricky, Tricky Cowper's Gland!

Back in Sex School, my anatomy professor's favorite body part was the little known Cowper's Gland located just off of the male urethra. I know it was his favorite because he told us so countless times. Why was it his favorite? "Because this is the little bugger that gets soooo many people into trouble!"

That's right, it's because of this teeny gland (actually it's two teeny glands) that the "withdrawal" method of contraception has such a high failure rate! You did know that the withdrawal method is NOT very effective against pregnancy, right?! Right?! Well if you didn't know before, you know now. Pulling the penis out of the vagina just before male ejaculation is NOT A GOOD WAY TO PREVENT PREGNANCY (and obviously does not prevent sexually transmitted infections either!) Here's the reason why.

Let's return to the Cowper's Gland. If you start at the head of the penis and work your way up the inside of the urethra, you'll quickly find the Cowper's Gland. Its reproductive function is to provide pre-ejaculate or "pre-cum" as it's better known...those first few drops that appear at the tip of the penis during arousal. This fluid's main job is not to give your partner something to lick before penetration (though many guys may try to convince you otherwise). Its actual job is to neutralize any acid left over within the urethra by the passage of urine. Since urine is acidic and acid kills sperm, its best to flush out the urethra with something sperm-friendly before the mighty army marches on down to the promised land. (By the way, if those sperm are heading into a vagina, roughly 1/3 of them will be killed instantly by the vagina's own acids anyway!)

So, lucky for those sperm, the Cowper's Gland at least gives them a fighting chance before they leave the penis! Now for the tricky part.

The Cowper's Gland does not produce sperm at all (that's the testes role), nor does it purposefully store sperm (that's the epididymis)...BUT sperm does get trapped in the Cowper's Gland on its way out of the urethra during ejaculation! What does this mean to you?

It means that your morning masturbation session has accidentally left behind some live sperm in your Cowper's gland, and when you have your after-dinner sex tonight those left-behind sperm will inconveniently pop out along with your pre-cum. If your penis happens to be in a vagina without a condom on it at this time, those sperm could potentially impregnate your parter regardless of whether you ejaculate or not! (Although the odds of those few sperm getting all the way up to a fallopian tube alive seems rather small...we all know it DOES happen!!)

There you have it. Now when someone says "Oh we won't get pregnant, he always pulls out before he cums" you can sound like a smarty-pants and explain all about the Cowper's Gland and why that method of contraception fails so often!

What's the Most Kissable Body Part? You Told Me!

Want to know what the most kissable body part is (Besides the most obvious ones!)? You guessed it, the thigh! Soaring above all other erogenous zones, the thighs won out, capturing 27% of your votes as the place you most wished to be kissed this New Years! Well, did your wish come true? I certainly hope it did!

As the 'keeper of secrets' the thighs are known as the gateway to sexual pleasure for both men and women. With the right amount of kissing, caressing, and fondling these gates will open smoothly, giving you plenty of time to frolic around in the Promised Land...But beware! Try to barge or plunder your way in and you'll not only end up locked outside the gates, but magically transported to a land far far away (such as the Cold Shoulder Mountains)! And by the way, NO ONE voted for the shoulders!

Here are the complete results of Most Kissable Body Parts of 2006...

  1. Thighs - 27%
  2. Tummy/Chest - 21%
  3. Neck - 19%
  4. Lips - 18%
  5. Ears - 12%
  6. Back - 2%
  7. Hands/Feet - 1%
  8. Shoulders - 0%
Now that you're armed with this information, you have plenty of time to devise your very own evil plan of Kissing Seduction for New Year's 2008. So go on, think ahead...people like it when you plan, it shows you've put in the effort. And effort is always appreciated...isn't it? Well, isn't it?!

Thanks for voting!

Have Yourself A Sexy Little Christmas...How To Liven Up Those Holiday Parties!

I realize I have not posted much in the last week, but needless to say I have been quite busy with the impending holiday parties and such, so I apologize. I know you've missed me terribly...

All this holiday cheer has forced me to ask myself, have I been naughty or nice this year? This question often befuddles my little mind because I'm always both naughty and nice, and usually at the very same time! After all, doing all those 'naughty' things is what keeps the 'nice' things, like relationships, going right? Cut out the naughty, and you lose the nice!

Now that I have used the words 'naughty' and 'nice' at least five times each, you should definitely be in the Holiday Spirit! Keeping with that, here are just a couple spicy ideas for you to consider during the next egg-nog filled days...

For Those of You with Male Partners:

Candy Cane Surprise
  • During one of the duller party moments, grab a candy cane off that tree, catch his eye from across the room, and treat him to a little candy-cane-licking show. If done right, he should be by your side and carting you away to the nearest coat closet or rest room in no time! The left over peppermint in your mouth will be sure to leave him tingling for more.
For Those of You with Female Partners:

Secret Santa
  • Before you head out for the night, slip a little note into her coat/jacket/pants pocket for her to discover sometime during your night out. This works best if she tends to keep her jacket or coat on during parties. The note should contain only two instructions. The first is for her to go to the bathroom and remove her underwear as soon as she finds the note. The second is for her to meet you in the parking lot at midnight (or whatever time you think best). Sign the note from "Your Secret Santa." At the specified time meet her in the parking lot and proceed to have your way with her in the backseat of your car! This plan has all the trappings of a great seduction; surprise, suspense, mystery, and of course, the naughtiness of having sex right outside the party! For a perfect ending make sure you go back inside and pretend like nothing happened. Sharing that secret encounter will surely make the rest of the party memorable!
For Anyone:

Daring Mistletoe
  • Every party seems to have that boring mistletoe above the entrance doorway under which we all have to give that boring compulsory peck of a kiss. Well this year, why not let yourself go a little? Grab your partner in front of the festive onlookers and give him/her a kiss to remember! (Bonus points if you include some groping!) The way I see it, your partner can react two ways; they either love it so much that they drag you back outside just to do it all over again, or they become quietly furious with embarrassment and stomp away. Either way the party just got a little more entertaining!
There you have it! My wickedly naughty ideas that will save you from another season of dull parties. I hope you try at least one of them, and above all...Have a Sexy Holiday!!!

To Orgasm or Not To Orgasm!

The first sexual experience with a new partner is always a tricky time. Unfailingly questions arise to make us feel nervous or jittery, usually helping to add to the excitement of the moment. Questions like; What will this mean? Should we do it right now? Will he/she be good in bed? Will I be good in bed? And while these are all concerns that most men and women share, there is one question in particular that seems to be specifically female oriented...Will I have an orgasm?!

For men, the answer almost goes without saying, "Yes I will." And if his orgasm could talk it would usually say something to the affect of, "This now concludes our sexual entertainment for this evening, thank you very much, and I hope you've enjoyed the ride!" However for women, even in today's world of Prime Time Orgasms, the answer to this question continues to be, "Probably Not!" In fact, according to an article recently published by CNN, 70% of all intercourse sessions end WITHOUT the woman experiencing the Big O at all! The reasons for not having an orgasm are numerous, a few being; the majority of women can not physically achieve orgasm based on penetration alone (regardless or what TV shows or Porn say!), in most cases it takes longer for her to climax, and it is generally acceptable for sex to end when he orgasms. Now, although these are all seemingly legitimate reasons for this contemptible lack of female gratification, my all time favorite reason behind this 70% figure is that apparently for many women the orgasm is not the goal, or even the best part, of the sexual experience. I just have one thing to say to these women...WHAT?! What women are they asking?! Have these women ever had an orgasm?! Have they been so brainwashed to believe that for women sex should be purely about emotional connection that they've given up fighting for their own rights to physical nirvana? Worse yet, I ask, exactly who made the rule that sex ends when he orgasms instead of me, and why would I ever acquiesce to this? I find it shocking that despite the fact that feminist have been arguing for women to take control of their own sexual pleasure for at least the past 30 years, as of today, 70% still have not listened. Now, before anyone goes a little crazy on me, I do agree there is more to sex than just having an orgasm. Of course the emotional connection is important, even if it is just a one-night romp, and of course the kissing, petting, yadda-yadda is wonderful in itself...but please don't try to convince me, that for some magical reason, women don't like experiencing orgasms just as much, if not more so (yes, the multiples!), than do men.

So, my big question today is...Women, do you orgasm during sex? Why or why not? Men, do you encourage your partner(s) to orgasm, or does sex end when you climax? (I do realize that this post mostly applies to heterosexual couples...)

Sex During Menstruation...Drs agree it is perfectly healthy, but is it pleasant?

Sticky and Messy, or Lubed and Ready? It seems to me that there is no middle ground for this issue; either you do it or you don't. Seeing as how every relationship involving at least one reproductive woman will have to decide on how to negotiate this monthly phenomena, I would assume it would be a very readily talked about topic among couples. However, I find that sex during menstruation, and menstruation in general, is a conversation very readily avoided by everyone involved. Women still consider it a "woman's thing" of which only women talk about to other women, and then only rarely at that. Men tend to avoid the topic like the plague, often letting well enough alone or cringing at the very thought that their usual object of worship is, for about five days a month, a volcano from hell. Yet even with all of this unease on both sides, some form of agreement, whether verbal or tacit, must be made about intercourse. Will all sexual contact cease? Will only heavy petting be allowed? Is it always up to the menstruating woman to decide how far things go? Will she verbally inform her partner that her period has started and ended, or will he/she have to find out by poking through the bathroom wastebasket for evidence like some twisted detective?!

I opt for the open communication option...If my partner was too squeamish to deal with a little natural blood every month, I'd have to seriously rethink where he fell on the maturity meter. If we couldn't talk frankly about something as mundane as a period, what would happen when a really hard or sensitive topic came up...

Anyway, back to the pleasantness question. This basically boils down to how dirty and/or messy you think sex could be while still having fun. Of course there is a little extra equipment necessary, namely a towel, and a lot more clean-up time after, but there are perks as well. For many women hormonal changes cause two distinct peaks in their natural arousal levels, during ovulation (roughly mid-cycle as you already know, right?) AND during menstruation (this peak is often not mentioned). So what does this mean? Menstruating women tend to be horny, and many also report that they have stronger sexual responses, such as more intense orgasms, during this time. So, for those who do opt to dive in regardless of everything else, congratulations! You are probably having great sex while others are suffering through a week of abstention every month. However, we all have our boundaries that must be respected, so for those men and women who feel blood and sex do not mix under any circumstances, don't feel badly about telling your partner NO. In fact, there are many ways of being intimate during this time without intercourse. For some creative ideas from a man's perspective, click here.

As a bit of a side note, there are a lot of people who get TURNED ON BY MENSTRUATION, call it a fetish if you will. For those of you who fall into this category, you know who you are and you are not alone, don't be shy about telling your partner...you never know, you may be pleasantly surprised by their reaction (very horny during this time, remember?!). It might lead to a whole world of sticky opportunities.

My Question; How do you negotiate your own sexuality with your partner during her/your periods? Hints, open talks, etc.? Do you have sex or don't you? Does it turn you on, off, neutral? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Is Pregnancy Sexy (& Should It Be)?

I guess you could say it all started with the infamous Demi Moore...You remember, that one magazine cover that gave rise to an entire social debate over whether or not a pregnant female body is or should be considered sexy...If you were living in a cave during the early '90s, let me refresh your memory. Naked Pregnant Woman appeared on cover of magazine, making the public question their own ideas of decency, femininity, and the sanctity that is considered Motherhood. The debate has raged on, though to a lesser degree, with the introduction of Britney Spears' cover.

Now, what I find particularly intriguing about this topic is that on one hand women want to be sexy. They want men, or women if they are lesbians, to desire them. While on the other hand they also want to be wives and mothers. (I am speaking very generally here, so please don't post tons of responses about this!) But is this really on the other hand, or is being a mother also supposed to be sexy? Considering that pregnancy takes up the better part of a year, add to that the breastfeeding period, and then the disheveled toddler period, this "Complete Momminess" lasts for at least 5 years, and that is with only one child. During these years I am sure women still want to be considered sexy. They still want their husbands to look at them like they are the most delicious thing in the kitchen...That said, why was Demi, and now Britney, so controversial?

The answer seems to be twofold. The first part has to do with women and their own self identifications. The very ideal of Motherhood is one of Pure Goodness, Unconditional Giving, Selflessness, Sainthood! Mixed with these ideas are all sorts of religious undertones, making Motherhood itself almost a state of perpetual Holiness (think Virgin Mary...that's right, VIRGIN!). And we wonder why we are so confused as women as to what we want to be...Sex Goddess or Virgin Mother?! The answer is sadly...Both. I say sadly not because it is wrong to want both images, but because our society still views the two simultaneous states of womanhood as a dichotomy. We as normal, everyday women, feel confused and guilty for wanting our husbands and lovers to drool over us, even when we are pregnant, even when we are changing diapers, (yes...even then!). It is no wonder that when confronted with an image of a blatantly sexualized pregnant body, women feel torn...Is it good that Demi is still "hot" or is she being a "bad mother" already? And how dare she flaunt it in our faces that she has already come to terms with this largely unconscious issue?!

The second part has to do with men and how they should react to a pregnant body according to women. If women within themselves struggle to come to a consensus about whether pregnancy should be sexy, what on earth should the men think? In reality, what do the men think?

Well, what do you think? Are pregnant women sexy? Is motherhood a sexy state of being? Do you feel guilty about being attracted to your pregnant wife? Are you not attracted to your pregnant wife for any of these reasons...or are you just turned off by her bigger body?

I would love to know, so please click on the "comments" link below! Your views are very much appreciated!
